Day 0 : Evening Briefing In Cusco

Meet & greet with other guests where you receive important information for a great trekking experience.

Day 01: Tranport accommodation – City Tour Cusco – Return to Cusco.

Reception and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the morning for acclimatization. At the scheduled time (1:30 p.m.) pick up from the hotel for the City Tour, we will visit the Koricancha (Temple of the Sun) and The Convent of Santo Domingo. Then we will visit the museum of the Cathedral observe the colonial art of XVI and XVIII centuries, like paintings and marks. Then we will visit the archaeological sites bordering the city of Cusco: Sacsayhuaman, Kenko, Tambomachay and Pukapukara. Overnight in cusco.
Tourists who have no symptoms of altitude sickness can hike 20 minutes out of town to the archaeological complex of Sacsayhuaman and to the White Christ where you can see the city from a different perspective.

Day 02: Tour to Machu Picchu – Return to Cusco.

We will pass by your hotel in Cusco 2.5 hours before the scheduled departure of your train chosen, then go in a van to the spectacular landscapes that lie in in Sacred Valley. Arrive at Ollantaytambo station half an hour before the departure of your train “Expedition – Peru Rail”, at this point begins your journey back to the town of “Aguas Calientes” (2,000 m) having a length of 1.45 is started hours approx.
Arriving at the station, our guide will be waiting, and you will head to the bus station, to ascend 400 meters by a zigzag way for 30 minutes to get to the amazing world wonder ” The Sanctuary of Machupicchu “, known as “The lost City of the Incas”.
Upon arrival at Machu Picchu Archaeological Park, we will pass the control, where you must submit your admission ticket, from this place the guided tour begins. You will visit different main places of the city such as the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial (Intihuatana “Place where the sun is tied “), the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and more. The duration of the tour is approximately two hours. Upon completion you will have free time to stroll around the citadel or if you want lunch at the Sanctuary Lodge, another option you have is to return to Aguas Calientes and take their food at one of several restaurants. (Lunch is on your own).
In the afternoon you will take the return train at 18:45 hours to the city of Cusco (you have to go to the station 30 minutes before departure time of your train), the return will follow the same route as the outward journey, after you reach to the train station in Ollantaytambo, we will take a transport that will lead us to the city of Cusco where we will arrive at 22:30 approximately, we will be waiting to take you to your hotel / accommodation. Return and Overnight in Cusco.

Day 03: Transfer to the Airport and Farewell.

In a good time we will transfer you to the station or airport to return to hometown.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

• Most people automatically assume that the weather is hot in South America, but because of the higher altitude in the Andes, the temperature can feel quite cold, especially at night. We recommend the use of a duffel bag or backpack, whichever is easiest for you to carry. A good size daypack is also essential.
• Train included in all tours is the Cerrojo-backpacker (Aguas calientes to Ollantaytambo) Train times will only be confirmed once full amount of tour is paid. The earliest train you could take is the 14:00 and being the 9:00 pm the last train. Machupicchu exploring Peru will organize the transport back to Cusco (by taxi or by bus).

• Money Exchange: Credit cards and debit cards are very useful for cash advances. Visa cards are the most widely accepted cards. While ATMs are widely available, there are no guarantees that your credit cards or debit cards will actually work in Peru. Check with your bank. You should be aware that to purchase products or services on a credit card a fee of 5%-10% usually applies. Do not rely on credit or debit cards as your only source of money. A combination of US$ dollar cash, travellers cheques and cards is best, although you will usually be charged a commission or given a less-favourable exchange rate for travellers cheques. Always take more rather than less.

CURRENCY EXCHANGE TIP: Please be advised that slightly torn notes, notes that have been heavily marked or are faded may be difficult to exchange. It is best to bring notes in fairly good condition, in denominations lower than 100 US$ (or equivalent).
Note: that common clothing, batteries, film, medications, and such toiletries as toothpaste, toothbrush, toilet paper, deodorant and feminine hygiene items are available in Peru. It is best to bring from home such items as prescription meds, eyewear and care, extra large clothing, shoes, unusual film and camera batteries. Also note that most digital camera memory cards can be downloaded and burned onto a CD in internet cafes in any large city.
Climate
Rain is possible at any time of year, especially in high mountains and cloud forest, and one should always be prepared. The climate in sites we will visit is as follows:
Cuzco: days are warm if sunny, slightly chilly if cloudy. Nights are cold in Cuzco.
Lima: warm to hot days, cool evenings, almost never any rain. Often overcast.
Inca Trail: variable depending on altitude, from hot to very cold, with rain always a possibility.
Machu Picchu: lower and warmer than Cuzco, with rain possible all year round. In Aguas Calientes/Machupicchu, at lower altitude, temperatures are usually warmer though warm clothes are still recommended at night.
Puno: days are warm if sunny, slightly chilly if cloudy. Nights are cold in Puno.
Baggage
For your international flights, please check with your airline. Within Peru, you are allowed 20 kilos (44 lbs) of checked baggage, as well as one carry-on and another small, purse-like item. The carry-on size regulations are the same as international carry-on size regulation.
